We can help take people and businesses to a position of strength by offering solutions in a range of areas, including mental health, leadership development, coaching, sales and psychometric evaluation.

Whilst working within the construction sector it became clear that mental health and mental illness was, and still is a major cause of concern within this industry and others. Having both personally experienced mental illness during their careers, Company Directors' Rob and Gavin decided to come together to form The Learning & Development Consultancy Ltd. so that they could raise awareness of mental health within the community.

As fully accredited Mental Health First Aid instructors our aim is to help people gain an understanding of common mental health issues, build knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness, help to spot the triggers and signs of mental ill health, provide the confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress and equip people with skills to support positive wellbeing.

Rob Middleton

Rob is a highly skilled learning professional with over 30 years’ experience, he is CIPD certified in Learning and Development (L&D) Practice and an associate member of the CIPD. Rob comes from a HM Forces and corporate background, he has L&D experience in the utilities, transport & logistics, education and home building sectors. A consummate professional held in high esteem by colleagues and clients. Rob is experienced in the design, development, delivery and evaluation of L&D solutions to groups and individuals. Rob is certified to professionally and ethically administer and interpret the Myers Briggs psychometric instrument through highly interactive and experiential learning methods.
Rob is married and lives in Berkshire, he has 2 children and 3 grandchildren. In his spare time Rob enjoys spending time with family, reading and walking his dog.

Gavin Capaldi

Gavin is CIPD certified in Human Resources Development and an ILM qualified leadership mentor and executive coach with Training, Learning and Development experience gained whilst working for large, medium and small sized enterprises including Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Automotive and the Public Sector: the Department for Education and Prison Service. A facilitator with a strong collaborative style of engagement allied to excellent organisational and planning competencies. Passionate about helping people learn, develop and grow – an advocate of Life-Long learning. Gavin has a genuine stakeholder and customer focus approach in terms of delivering add value L&D solutions that support organisational goals and cultural change.
Gavin is married and lives in Gloucestershire, he has 2 children. In his spare time Gavin enjoys listening to music, countryside walks, cycling, cooking, gardening and family focused activities.
